What a fun learning experience installing a 12’-deep piezometer on the banks of the Gila River! The second flood last year took about 4 of them out and they need to be reinstalled. These help us understand the interactions between shallow groundwater and riparian ecosystems. Transducers record every half hour and they’re checked/downloaded quarterly. There are 16 of them paired with surveyed cross sections.
